work it

No high five today . . . just a furious scramble to get orders in the mail before the long weekend! My thesis draft deadline is approaching quickly (end of April), and I still have a long way to go. But today I'm putting a lid on it today and focusing on sewing. Tomorrow I'm going to hit my thesis like a madwoman (I say this every day) . . .

In other news, I discovered PicMonkey today. Thank goodness, because I was starting to itch, just thinking about losing Picnik! I know Google+ creative suite has all the picnik stuff, but I tried it once and it was a bit of a hassle to navigate. I haven't really played around with PicMonkey yet. To be honest, it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of playing around to be done on it, but I can do all the basic edits that I use on a regular basis (for free) with picnik (crop, rotate, exposure, and colour). I'm going to check out Aviary too. But for now, all is right in the world, and I'd best get back to my sewing machine!

What I'm Working

After 3 (whopping) weeks of back-to-back cold and flu, I'm feelin' my old self again (albeit a little depleted). So it's back to the machine! Lately, I've just been able to keep up with orders and not much else, but between long naps, I've been thinking about new things I want to make. One of those things are these baby booties! Made from Ivory linen/cotton, a re-purposed doily, and pale yellow cotton.

I also made these slippers! I need to experiment with the strap a bit, but hopefully they'll be in the shop someday . . . soon?
