Pre-Party

Tomorrow is the big end-of-grad-school-celebration. Yay! There's going to be a big white tent, music, and fantastic food.

Also, there is going to be a wicked awesome candle chandelier deal--purchased from the local Salvation Army and renovated to be super-spectacular. It was gold, and had a lot of baubley attachments that my mom kindly figured out how to remove. Then I spray painted it white (a coat of primer and then a whole can of white satin spray paint, applied in light coats)

Generally, my idea of a good party is like, a family dinner with my favourite foods. Or games night with my bff and our favourite foods. Or movie night. I'm wild like that. But I have to say, I'm super stoked for tomorrow's party.

If today's any indication of future weather, it's going to piss rain all day and all night. But we have a tent, fancy heaters (like the ones on restaurant patios), a basket of blankets, and plenty of extra sweaters. So there's no excuse for people to not have fun. I'm actually setting up an electric fence around the yard so that nobody can leave early. Kidding. They don't rent out electric fences at party rental stores.

Even if it pours, it's promising to be a great time though, 'cause the guest list is pretty stellar. My brother even flew in from Langley yesterday and surprised me! Did I mention, I'm super stoked?

Anyways, I'll be inundating the internet with all the deets next week, I'm sure (hopefully accompanied by some good pics)

  1. I love the chandelier. I've always wanted one above my bathtub, but a chandelier in a tent is also very fabulous! I can't wait to celebrate tomorrow...good thing that I have all day to decide what to wear.

  2. Sounds like an amazing party. My sister threw a pretty awesome party almost a year ago for our 30th birthday. Love all of the small touches that make it warm and cozy.
