The good news is that I've been working on my thesis a bit more! The bad news is that it involves reading this ol' tome:
It's important . . . to my field of study, to my thesis, to the world (I'm sure). But I only understand about 1 in every 45 sentences. And I only understand those ones because I've already read entire articles on those sentences by other (easier to read) scholars. Sometimes I eat french fries while I'm reading because my love for salty grease saturated foods almost balances out my hate for undigestible theory.
In other news, I got in some AMAZING japanese cotton/linen from Fabric Bubble yesterday. I only ordered a meter of each and now I'm humming and hawing over whether I should buy a whole bunch more before it sells out.
It's even cuter in real life, if that's even possible. I had to make something immediately! So I made these. Just in time for the farmers market tomorrow! It's supposed to not rain, which is exciting around these parts right now.
I've been wanting to make adult-sized slippers for awhile, but I've had some fail-type experiences. I think I've finally nailed it. At least for ballerina flats in my size . . . I made these ones for myself:
Academia, good eats, and sewing: that 'bout covers it for now. I made some cool magnetic boards covered in vintage drawer liner (which I also used to cover the top of my unsightly dresser), but I'll save that for another time.
